Managing Trustee’s Message

It gives me immense pleasure in welcoming you to Sevadham Trust’s A.S.M.T. School of Nursing.

The Nursing School was started in the year 2006. The educational trust is committed to provide quality education to all those who enter this portal, having a conducive environment with adequate classrooms, library, laboratories and more.

Nursing has a significant role in a society that values the maintenance and improvement of health along a positive continuum. Nurses have a unique and extremely valuable perspective on the challenges in our health care delivery system. Nurses increasingly recognise the need to extend the base of nursing knowledge as part of professional responsibility, and give importance to research activities for providing quality of life to families and society.

Sevadham Trust’s A.S.M.T. School of Nursing has evolved a unique educational programme blending futuristic needs and development skills that are instrumental in facing present-day job requirements, and also for the students’ professional benefit. With our state-of-the-art infrastructure, the student will be acclimatised to a proficient work culture and emerge as a well-rounded professional that the nursing field desires to have.

Higher education has an independent as well as a professional value; the purpose of higher education must be to rationalise attitudes as well as to impart knowledge and skills. Quality education should orient national development, and should aim at training the younger generation in life skills, self-reliance, personality development, community service and social integration. Sevadham Trust’s A.S.M.T. School of Nursing has inherited these principles in addition to expert teaching, which promises to give our students a unique opportunity to develop knowledge and hone their skills in the nursing field. The nursing profession has worldwide placement and opportunities to practise as a skilful nurse.

The vision of the trust is to become a university for women with an international standard.

From the Principal’s Desk

I consider it a privilege and an honour to be the Principal of Sevadham Trust’s A.S.M.T. School of Nursing.

The institute offers a 3-year diploma programme in General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M.).

Nursing, according to me, is a unique profession which has a blend of the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains. Nursing education empowers one to lift oneself from darkness to light.

I feel that education should not be confined only to books, but should empower one to explore various avenues. The students who join the institute are young, with creative minds and ideas of their own. Each of them has innate abilities and their own strengths. As a facilitator, mentor and educator, it is our bound duty to tap their interest and to build and inculcate the right values amongst them. The focus of the institute is to develop the personality of the student and to prepare nurses with the right knowledge and a kind and proper attitude.

The faculty, along with all the non-teaching and supportive staff, strive to provide quality nursing education so that our students can render standard nursing care in the health care area.

I look forward to seeing the institute in the limelight and recognised as one of the best nursing institutions.
